PlayFIrst is a San Francisco based publisher of casual games founded in 2004. Its biggest commercial success is a time management game, Diner Dash series. The first game was developed by a New York based casual game developer, Gamelab. PlayFirst bought the rights to the game and released four more sequels. Playfirst is also best known for publishing Dream Chronicles series, developed by KatGames. Later in 2010, PlayFirst announced a focus on the mobile and social market and cancelled releasing further casual games in the near futer. On October 8, 2012, PlayFirst emailed its subscribers informing them that the company will cease the production of PC and Mac games and move to a new website since November 12, 2012. On September 3, 2014, PlayFirst was acquired by Glu Mobile. Glu Mobile itself would be acquired by Electronic Arts in April 2021.
From 2005 to mid-2011, PlayFirst have released 72 casual games for PC and Mac.
